Flues, Hockey, and all the Fixings

Seeing as I have all this free time on my hands, I figured I'd notch another entry. I am recovering from the flu...like anyone needs to know that, but whatever, there it is in print. That's all we'll mention about the night from Hades.

The NHL trade deadline is fast upon us. I hope that Alexei Kovalev finds a new home...even though I am a Penguins fan, the sight of that deadbeat drifting around out there drives me nuts. Ovechkin is proof a Russian can play with heart and flair and consistent...Kovalev has talent and sweet hands...why he doesn't use them is beyond me.

Some interesting things in the news...not the least, Iran's supposed ability to launch a long-range rocket. Something tells me something will break there sooner rather than later. There's a lot of increasing tension there...how far will it go before someone does something rather stupid and start something?

Hockey tournaments all around this weekend...hopefully my body will recover sufficiently for me to go out and enjoy the minor hockey here in the Valley. This level is much more enjoyable than the pro level these days. The NHL is really watered down. Watching these kids compete is the purest form of sport right now...even though the shootout is evilly incorporated into it.

Have a great weekend, folks! I hope to post sometime in the next few days...help spread the word of my blog!
